Updated 1st Jul 2010  -  Turnover in the Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, Medical Equipment & Supplies sector companies monitored by Alert Data has dropped by 3% in the past accounting year to reach £166.1bn. Profits have risen 12% to £27.1bn.  Employee numbers have declined 4% to approximately 641,347 people in the same period.  Over the last 3 years, turnover rose marginally by 0.4% and employee numbers declined by 12%.  See UK Growth by Sector section for more detail.
